DELMAR-Jean Ryan Bryce, 93, entered into eternal rest Monday, November 20, 2017.
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Bridget (Murphy) Ryan and wife of the late John P. Bryce. Although Jean and John immigrated with their family to the United States in 1959, she remained fiercely loyal to her birthplace and made it her life’s work to achieve the dream of peace and equality in a united Ireland. She was a passionate early supporter of Irish Northern Aid and a protestor against injustice wherever it hid, whether it was in Ireland, America or the grocery store.
ALBANY- Alaric “Jim” Jackson Jr., 87, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2016 at his home.
Born in Utica, NY he was the son of the late Alaric J. and Bonnie Belle (Betts) Jackson, Sr. Jim was a graduate of Carthage High School and the Albany College of Pharmacy. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War having served as a Lab Tech on the hospital ship, USS Consolation. Jim worked for Bender Hygienic Laboratory in Albany for more than 37 years, retiring as a supervisor in the Chemistry Department.
BROOKSVILLE, FL- Deborah L. (Pitcher) Martino of Albany, NY, and Brooksville, FL, passed away on November 10th at the age of 57 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Deborah was born in Watertown, NY, but lived most of her life in Albany, NY attending Albany High School and Orlando Beauty School. For the past several years she lived in Florida during the winter months and spent summers at Lake Ontario, NY.
SLINGERLANDS-May (Marsch) Reissig, 97, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 12, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born in Albany, she was a graduate of Albany High School and attended Albany Business College. She married Harold J. Reissig in 1949 and resided in Delmar. Prior to becoming a full time homemaker, she worked at Ten Eyck Insurance Company. May enjoyed music, a good game of bridge, and she took excellent care of those she loved. She was a lifelong active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
COLONIE- Francine (Aida) DeRubens Kelly passed away early Saturday morning, November 11, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Francine was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, and was the daughter of the late Francisco DeRubens Jimenez and Aida Francine Quijano DeRubens and her step-father Hidalgo Perez. She was educated in private Catholic French-Mexican schools and graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Mexico with a Bachelor’s in Political Science & Communications. She met and married her husband Wayne in her native Mexico City in 1970, enjoying 47 years of blissful marriage.
MENANDS-Sister Mary Caroline Hriczko, D.C. diedon November 9, 2017. Sister was 85 years of age and 63 years vocation as a Daughter of Charity.
Born in Buffalo, NY on December 22, 1931, Sister Mary Caroline was one of 7 children born to Karolina (Chanda) and John Hriczko.Sister Mary Caroline joined the Community of Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul on September 8, 1953.
VOORHEESVILLE- E. Scott Macomber, 71, passed away at his home on November 9, 2017. Scott was born on June 14, 1946 in Palo Alto, California to Dr. W. Brandon Macomber and Catherine Guthrie Macomber. He attended The Albany Academy, Trinity College (Hartford, CT), Albany Medical College, and he did his general surgery residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. Scott returned to Albany, NY for his plastic surgery residency and in 1977 joined The Plastic Surgery Group of W.B. Macomber (later to become The Plastic Surgery Group) and was in practice until 2013.
