ALTAMONT-Carolyn Mary Khoury, 35, beloved wife of Nicholas Miller Khoury and mother of their late son, Nicholas Steven Khoury, or “Little Nick”, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018. Carolyn’s husband loved her beyond measure, and she reciprocated the same love for both him and their son, whose memory she celebrated every day.
Carolyn is the daughter of Michael and Frances Alvino and older sister of her three siblings, Michael, Christopher, and Catherine. She is the daughter-in-law of Steven Khoury, Virginia Khoury, and Anthony Sherwell and sister-in-law of Noah and Sarah Khoury. She is the loving aunt of Charlie Rose Alvino, sister-in-law of Brenna Alvino, niece of Carolyn and Jon Pelzman, and granddaughter of the late Anthony and Rose Vacca and Pasquale and Mary Alvino.
ALBANY- In her 101st year, Margaret “Meg” De Joie passed away peacefully on Saturday March 10, 2018 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Coeymans, NY on August 24, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angeline (Zampella) De Joie. Meg’s first job was at the Jacobson Shirt Factory. She later joined the payroll department at Albany Medical Center where she worked for many years until her retirement.She was a communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi.
ALBANY- Isabelle M. (Kelly) Carroll, 74, passed away peacefully at home March 9, 2018.
Missy was born in Albany on December 23, 1943, one of eight children of the late James and M. Isabelle (Crone) Kelly. In her youth she was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and a graduate of Vincentian Institute and began working at National Commercial Bank & Trust, now known as Key Bank. Married to William Joseph Carroll of Albany on December 28, 1963 in Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at VI, Missy devoted herself to family and the care of the couple’s children.
DELMAR – Ellen Ruth Bridget Flanagan Catalano, 80, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Ellen is predeceased by her loving parents, Michael and Kathleen Flanagan; her brothers, Michael (late Lydia), Arthur, Daniel, and Thomas Flanagan; and her sisters, Eileen (late Frank) Renzi, Joan (late Robert) Radler, and Barbara Santiago.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Eileen (Robert) Pasquini; her son, Vincent (Lisa) Catalano Jr. ; five grandsons –Robert, Matthew, and Timothy (Nicole) Pasquini, and Vincent (Lauren) and Michael (Jesse) Catalano.She is also survived by her three great-grandsons, Michael, Jack, and Louis Catalano. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Marion (late Ron) Waite, Doris Barr, (John), and Kathleen (late Larry) Loerzel, and her brother, Thomas DePalma (Helene), her sisters-in-law, Joyce and Margaret Flanagan, and her brother-in-law, Paul Santiago. Ellen is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, both in America and in Ireland. She also leaves behind her loving companion and friend, the Honorable Leonard Weiss.
ALBANY- Nancy A. (Smith) Catalano, formerly Nancy Dunn, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Louise (Zinzow) Smith. She was a graduate of the former Cathedral Academy. Nancy worked for the city of Albany as a clerk with the parking violations bureau for more than 20 years retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Nancy enjoyed shopping, being out in the sunshine and traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas.She loved spending time with her beloved Evan.
WILLSBORO, NY- Hubert McNamara “Hugh” Williams, 85, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
Born in Albany he was the son of the late Hubert J. and Frances (McNamara) Williams. Mr. Williams was a graduate of the former Vincentian Institute and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War era.
SLINGERLANDS-Edward T. “Red” Otto, 90, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Born in Albany he was the son of the late James J. and Margaret M. (Galvin) Otto. He was a graduate of the former St. Ann’s School and attended Christian Brothers Academy. Ed was an Army Veteran of the Korean War having obtained the rank of Corporal. His life was devoted to family, friends and his faith.
ALBANY-Robert J. “Tony” Bouchey, Sr. passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 after a brief illness.
Born in South Troy, he was the son of the late Aloysius and Henrietta (Dwyer) Bouchey. Tony was a graduate of La Salle Institute in Troy and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Green Island for 30 years.
