Stiffen, Frank T. Sr.

DELMAR – Frank T. “Demps” Stiffen, Sr. 91, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Albany VA Medical Center. A native of Albany, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Bosher) Stiffen, he enjoyed living at the Delmar Atria for the last few years of his life. He served in the US Navy during WWII and later in the US Army. Demps retired from Labor Union Local 190 and also from the Town of Colonie Highway Department. He was a volunteer fireman with the Shaker Road Fire Department, a member of the VFW and former member of the American Legion. Demps was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed golfing, especially while in Florida.

He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Louise (Bruni) Stiffen, and second wife Mary “Toby” (Guiry) Stiffen; also his siblings Joan Strohmaier, Edward, John, Robert and James Stiffen. He is survived by his children Agnes Roulier (Joseph) and Frank T. Stiffen, Jr. (Patricia); his grandchildren Alexis-Rae Sharma (Rischi), Jesse Stiffen (Leigh Ann) and Brian Stiffen; great-grandchildren Simone, Margaux and Remington Sharma; his siblings Betty Davis, Mary Lee Brush, George “Joe”, William and Thomas Stiffen.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Monday, August 7, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. His Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
