DELMAR- Daniel Charles Lawlor, Jr. 81, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center. Dan was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Teresa Catherine (Audino) Lawlor and his sisters, Ann VanAmburgh and Mary Janet Maguire. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Rose Lawlor of Denver, CO, his son Daniel C. Lawlor III of Selkirk; his grandsons Evan and Aidan Westervelt, and his sister Patricia Alice Boyd of Albany. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan was born in Albany, the son of the late Daniel and Anna Lawlor.
ALBANY- Brian McLean Noonan, 74, a retired businessman and husband of Bonita “Bonnie” Volks Noonan, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Son of the late Peter E. Noonan and Dorothea “Polly” McLean Noonan, Brian was born in Albany. He graduated from St. James Institute and then Cardinal McCloskey High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. He was a longtime communicant of St. James Church in Albany.
ALBANY-Michael A. Fournier “Hooky”, 62, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn.
Born in Albany and a graduate of Bethlehem Central School he was the son of the late Alfred W. Sr. and Margaret (Nolan) Fournier.
DELMAR- Maria (Sanchez) Van Duyne, 81, passed away after a short illness, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. She had lived in Hurley for 48 years before moving to Delmar four years ago.
Born in Suffern she was the daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Rehac) Sanchez. She retired in 2009 as a Secretary from the County of Ulster. Prior to that Mrs. Van Duyne had worked for IBM in Kingston.
ALBANY – On July 13, 2016, Lorraine M. Heeran passed into the hands of Our Lord with enduring strength after a brief illness. Welcomed into Heaven with the open arms of her predeceased husband Vincent J. Heeran, Sr. and daughter, Madonna L. (Heeran) Rapp; along with her parents, the late Mary and Francis Donohue.
Retired after many years with New York State, Lorraine was able to enjoy with pride the true sentiments of life she shared with her family and friends through her wisdom and knowledge.
ALBANY- Doris C. (Hettinger) Khoury, 85, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Delmar.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (McCann) Hettinger. Mrs. Khoury was a graduate of the former Philip Schuyler High School. She worked as an operator for the New York Telephone Company for seven years before leaving to raise her family. She was a homemaker and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
ALBANY- Eugene Joseph Smith, 86, died on July 11, 2016, at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A native of Albany, N.Y., he was born in 1929 to the late Marion (Steller) and Joseph E. Smith. Joe graduated from St. Theresa of Avila Grammar School and Christian Brothers Academy. He also attended Siena College and Russell Sage College. Joe worked in New York State service for 42 years retiring in 1991 as Director of Licensing for the New York State Insurance Department. An active member of St. Teresa of Avila parish in Albany, he was a past president of the Parish Council, a Parish Trustee and was involved in many parish ministries including its Engaged Couple Marriage Preparation program and as a Eucharistic Minister and, in retirement, as an adult altar server. Joe was a kind and gentle man whose deep faith in God and devotion to his family were the focus of his life. He was an ardent, life-long Red Sox fan and an avid reader. He cherished his summer vacations at Silver Lake in the Adirondacks with all of his children and grandchildren.
COHOES – Linda L. Hallenbeck-Schultz, 69, died Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Rosemarie Hallenbeck. Linda worked for over 30 years as a bartender at the Palais Royale in Albany.
