TROY- Helen Rose (Bartkowski) Lynch, 103, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophia (Jaros) Bartkowski. Mrs. Lynch was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time in Naples, Florida and fishing with her husband off the Florida coast.
HILLSBOROUGH, NC-Tyrone Orton Ross was 46 yrs. old and lived in North Carolina where he died suddenly on February 25, 2017. He was born in Newburgh, N.Y. on July 15, 1970. He moved to Detroit M.I. where he was raised as a child and later returned to upstate New York. It was in Albany N.Y. he started his family. During his travels he learned the trade of a construction worker which became his passion.
ALBANY- Rose Breslin, 80 passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Hudson Park Nursing Home.
Born and educated in Albany she was the daughter of the late Grace (Faliero) Breslin.
ALBANY-Harriet I. (Pembleton) Bulger, 97, came to the end of her earthly journey on Thursday, February23, 2017 and her loving husband Donald of 72 years was waiting for her with open arms.
ALBANY – Paul C. Vanderwarker, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and family on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late Richard and Helen (Clark) Vanderwarker. Paul was an Army Veteran of the Korean War having obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was a longtime auto body mechanic with Orange Motors in Albany and later chief claims adjuster with Property Damage Appraisers.
ALBANY- Margaret "Peggy" (Springer) Mulligan, 95, died February 17, 2017 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Cape May, NJ, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Stratton Springer, she was raised in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1939. Mrs. Mulligan was a bookkeeper with several companies including Hebrew National, Kramer and Son’s, DeNooyer Chevrolet and the NYS Council of Retail Merchants from where she retired in the 1980’s. She was a Charter member of the Sheehy Palmer Ladies Auxiliary #6776 and was active in many Veterans organizations. For many years, she enjoyed the Senior Aqua Aerobics program at the Albany JCC. Mrs. Mulligan was a longtime Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church (formerly St. James). Her greatest love and treasure was her family.
MENANDS, NY- Sister Ann Shea, DC a resident of St. Louise House in Albany, NY, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was 86 years of age and 59 years vocation as a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Born in Boston, MA, on July 12, 1930 Sister Ann was the second youngest of ten children born to Katherine McKenna and Cornelius Shea. Sister Ann joined the Community of Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in April 1957 in Emmitsburg, MD.
WATERVLIET- Kristie Prokrym Johnson, 48, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Albany and a graduate of Bishop Maginn High School, she was the beloved daughter of Jeanette (George) Prokrym of Watervliet and the late Stanley S. Prokrym.
