ALBANY- Owen J. “Bud” Soraghan, Jr., 76, entered Eternal Life on June 26, 2017 with his loving family and the Lord by his side.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Owen J. Soraghan and Marguerite (Feeley) Soraghan. Survived by his wife of over 53 years, Rosemary (Travis) Soraghan, the love of his life, and best friend. Rosemary gave meaning and purpose to Bud’s life and he cherished their life journey and loving partnership together.Bud often stated he considered his marriage to be truly a blessing and a beautiful gift.
DELMAR- Joseph H. Reohr, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Joseph H. Reohr, Sr. and Dorothy I. Reohr. He was a graduate of Albany High School and he attended Albany Business College and Siena College. Joseph was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance as Assistant Director after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post #1040, the University Club and the Watervliet Elks.
ALBANY- Audrey H. (Paley) Fiato, 85, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Audrey was the daughter of the late William and Agatha Paley. She lived in Albany and Delmar most of her life and worked in retail at the former Town and Tweed and Mullens Pharmacy. She was a member of the Normanside Country Club and an avid bridge player. Mrs. Fiato was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
LONG BEACH, CA- Thomas Michael Sanchez went to be with our Lord on Tuesday June 20, 2017 with his family by his side at St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach, California. Born Oct. 21, 1951 in Albany, NY, he is predeceased by his mother Mary Ann Majkut Sanchez and father Thomas Gale Sanchez. Survivors include his loving brothers Michael Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez (Ginny) and sister Maria Sanchez Martin (Michael); his niece and nephews Steven and Jessica Sanchez, Michael and Danielle Martin; grand- nieces Natalie, Cassidy, Mackenzie Sanchez and Aspen Mcbroom.
ALBANY-Nicola C. Parente, 86, died suddenly Friday, June 16, 2017.
Born in Montesarchio, Italy he was the son of the late Clemente and Concetta Parente, the second born of six children. As a young man he worked on his family farm and sang for the Church. When he was young, he fell in love with Angelina Damiano of the same small town. They married in 1954 in Italy. In April of 1956, with their infant daughter, they boarded the Andrea Doria for a new and uncertain life in America. They settled in Albany, NY where they raised a family together until Angelina’s untimely death in 2003.
ALBANY- Margaret C. Dillenbeck, 80, a long-time resident of Ballston Spa died June 14, 2017 at the Teresian House. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marion Dembski Czaban. Marge worked for the NYS Tax Department for many years.
ALBANY-Karen (McDonough) Sweeney, 81 years young, passed away peacefully and much loved at Teresian House on Friday, June 9th, 2017. Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Jane McDonough and was retired from the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance.
ALBANY Margaret Mary Basco (Rowe), 57, entered into eternal rest on Friday June 9, 2017 leaving behind a legacy of love for her family and her St. Peter’s Hospice co-workers. Known as Peggy by her family, she was born in Albany, New York on June 27, 1959, sharing this birthday with her older brother, David E. Rowe, Jr. Margaret is the youngest daughter of the late David E. and Mary R Rowe. "Nanny Peg" is predeceased by her grandchildren, Ashley Troestler, Joseph Troestler, and William Egan, Jr., and her great-niece, Hope Ann Kuftiak. She was educated at St. James Elementary School, graduated from Albany High School and earned degrees in early childhood education and dental assisting from Hudson Valley Community College and CNA certification.
