DELMAR – Glen Ann Aluise, 80, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was always filled with love and kindness to all she touched. Born in 1937 she was the daughter of the late Everlyn and Muriel (Rowe) Sniffen. She was married to Blaise Aluise for 59 loving years. Although she endured many painful surgeries over the last 20 years, always living with pain, she maintained a valiant spirit that inspired us all. She leaves behind her caring husband and devoted daughters Susan Aluise of Delmar and Jacqueline Mann of Kennsington, MD; and her grandchildren Jesse, Megan and Katie Mann.

Baker, Daniel J. Jr.

ALBANY-Daniel J. Baker, Jr., 89, passed away, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at home. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Lillian (Bollman) and Daniel J. Baker, Sr. and was a graduate of Albany High School. Mr. Baker worked as a truck driver for Callahan Industries for 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Past Master of the Guttenburg Lodge #737 and a Past Deputy District Grand Master in the Albany District. He was also a member of the Cyprus Shrine Band and Night Owls, Inc.

Bowers, Joan A.

LATHAM- After 21 years of time apart, Joan A. (Neubauer) Bowers, has been reunited with her beloved husband Joseph. Joan, 83, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 surrounded by the ones she laughed with, lived for and loved-her family. Joan was born and educated in Albany, a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names. She married Joseph C. Bowers on Sept 18, 1954 and settled in Albany and raised their family. Joan was past President and a lifetime member of the Supreme Council of Columbiettes, #173. She was also a member of Albany Elks Lodge #49, and AARP since 1978. She was a proud Democratic Committee Woman of the First Ward for 21 years. Joan was a Communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi and former Communicant of St. James Church.

Moro, Kenneth K.

FRANKLIN, NH – Kenneth K. Moro, 77, formerly of Albany, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 after a long illness.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Severin and Marjorie (Mathews) Moro. Sr. Kenneth was a graduate of Albany High School and the former Albany Business College. He worked as a plumber/pipe fitter in Albany for Local #7 and later in New Hampshire with Local #131, retiring after 50 years of service. He also worked for a time at Ford Motor Co. in Green Island. Mr. Moro was a former parishioner of St. James Church and former member of the Colonie Elks. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing golf.

Battibulli, Angela C.

ALBANY – Angela “Angie” Battibulli (neé Calsolaro) lived and breathed for her children and grandchildren until she joined her husband, Thomas “Tommy” A. Battibulli, in heaven on July 20th, 2017.

Angie, or “Che Che” as she was known to family and friends, was born to Louis and Angelina (neé LoPonto) Calsolaro, in 1926, and grew up in Albany’s South End. After graduation from Cathedral Academy, she worked fifteen years at National Commercial Bank. In 1961, she married Tommy and they led a migration of family to the close-knit Mercer & Providence Street neighborhood. Che Che took pride in cooking for her family and tending her beautiful and bountiful garden, known for its tasty tomatoes and zucchini. Che Che and Tommy were married forty-three years until his passing in 2004, and devoted their lives to lovingly raising their children Thomas A. Battibulli, Jr. and Joanne Bertsche, who married Linda Dillon and Tom Bertsche, respectively. Che Che would say her greatest source of joy sprang from her grandchildren, Rico and Lili Battibulli and Emily, Brian, Kathleen and Joseph Bertsche. She also leaves behind her sister Marie Thorne (Chuck), her husband’s daughter Sharon Bennett (Jim) and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sano, Josephine A.

ALBANY- Josephine Autilio Sano, 97, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home. Born in Elmhurst, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Autilio, and raised in Gloversville. In 1941 she graduated from NYS Teachers College in Albany and later received Master’s degrees from SUNY Albany and the College of St. Rose. Mrs. Sano taught social studies in a teaching career that spanned 44 years. The majority in the Albany School District at School 19 and Hackett Middle School until her retirement in 1986.

ALBANY – Marjorie A. Italiano Vaccariello, 77, entered Eternal rest Monday July 17, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Dorothy Italiano.Mrs. Vaccariello worked for the NYS Department of Tax and Finance for 26 years.She was a long time member of the Albany Elks, Zaloga Post Auxiliary and the Polish American Club. Mrs. Vaccareillo was also a Communicant of The Parish of Mater Christi.

Feeney, Caroline J.

TOPSFIELD, MA – Our blessed Mother and Grandmother, Caroline Kampa Feeney, age 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 15th in Beverly, Massachusetts after a short illness. She leaves behind three daughters,Cynthia Dowd of Broomfield, CO, Cheryl Rao of Beverly, MA and Mary Rupolo of Rehoboth, MA, as well as one son, Michael Feeney of Danvers, MA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 52 years, William P. Feeney, of Albany NY.
