MENANDS- John “Jack” S. Luther passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Albany on December 15, 1941 he graduated from Albany High School and Albany Business College.
Jack worked for many years in sales and later retired from NYS Dept. of Corrections. He was a member of Wadsworth Lodge #417 F&AM, A.A.S.R. Valley of Albany, Cyprus Temple #5 A.A.O.N.M.S, Albany Court #77 Royal Order of Jesters, Fellowcraft Club of Guttenberg Lodge #737, Nite Owls, Inc., Albany Elks Lodge #49 BPOE, Polish American Citizens Club and Vigilant Lodge #669 I.O.O.F.
GLENMONT- Carole S. (Albert) Peseka, 76, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Carole was born in Albany. She was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth “Betty” (Strokes) Albert. A graduate of the former Philip Schuyler High School, Carole worked as a secretary for the NYS Police. She was a devoted bingo and casino player and loved playing with her cat, Minnie.
ALBANY- Rose D. (Dramis) Coluccio, 86, passed away peacefully at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Guilderland on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Born in Albany and a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (DiTullio) Dramis.Rose was a secretary for the American Red Cross and later for the NY Telephone Company for 25 years. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Pius X in Loudonville.
ALBANY-Nisan Kasparoglu, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Nisan is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Vartuhi “Leyla” Kasparoglu; sister, Alis Demircan of Connecticut; brother Sahak Kasparoglu of Turkey; sons, Arjanti Kasparoglu and Shahin Kasparian; daughter, Madlen Balgin; grandchildren, Aras Balgin, Arpi Balgin, Marilyn Kasparian, Christina Kasparian, and Ani Kasparian; great-granddaughter, Sophie. He was predeceased by his cherished grandson, Alexander Kasparian.
TROY – Gloria Evans “Lenni”, 77, passed away suddenly Friday, September 22, 2017.
Born in Mountainhome, PA near where her great-grandfather, Joseph Charles, a Native American, had lived deep in the Pocono Mountains. She was a graduate of Easton High School, a supporter of the PRIDE organization, a member of Unity Church of Albany, and rescuer of many lucky cats over the years.
DELMAR - Carol (Burns) Oliver, 78, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Francis and Hazel Burns, she moved to Albany as a child. Carol graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names and received her child care training at the former Brady Hospital. Carol was a child care technician at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was a devoted wife, and mother who took great in joy caring for newborn babies.
ALBANY-Alveata (Bizzarro) Hoffler, 57, died peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 at home. Born in Syracuse, NY she was a graduate of Albany High School she is the daughter of Madeline (Gallo) Bizzarro and the late Carlo Bizzarro. Mrs. Hoffler was an aide for the Albany City School District for many years.
ALBANY-Bradford Gaylord (Hancox) James, 48, died suddenly, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of Judith (Gaylord) Hancox and David Hancox of Albany. Brad was a graduate of Albany High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was a very talented mechanic, loved the outdoors and hunting.
