Houck, Frank “Red” Jr.

COLONIE- Frank “Red” Houck, Jr. 76, entered into Eternal life Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Born and educated in Albany, he was the first child of Frank and Caroline Houck. He became a very hard working family man after meeting his wife Judy at Bi-Lo and together they raised three children. Upon retirement he became involved with many charitable organizations. Frank was a dedicated animal lover, sports enthusiast and avid outdoors man.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Mosall Houck; his three children, Christopher Houck, Cynthia Gamliel (Ofer) and Laurie Houck Bliven (Errol Sweet) ; three grandchildren Daniel and Dylan Bliven, and Charlotte Houck; siblings James and Michael Houck and Carol Ann Reedy.

Lehner, Richard M. Sr.
April 19, 2017

GLENMONT- Richard “Dick” M. Lehner Sr., 83, passed away on April 19, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany NY he was the son of Max and Josephine Lehner. He attended St. James Elementary school and served as an altar boy during Sunday Mass. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1952 and enlisted in the Army with the Corps of Engineers. Upon his discharge as a Sgt. in 1955, he returned home and attended Hudson Valley Community College, graduating in 1957. He began working for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) where he met his future wife and love of his life, Shirley Farrell.They were married on August 23, 1958, and honeymooned in Lake George. He retired from AT&T in 1988 and filled his retirement years with his many hobbies and interests. He was a proud member of the NRA, the Bethlehem Sportsman Club, the Pioneers, and the ELKS. He volunteered as a retired member of the Pioneers for many years to repair broken toys for the Albany PBA, and repaired Books on Tape recorders for the blind and visually handicapped.

Tibbitts, Alice C.

ALBANY- Alice C. (Maksymik) Tibbitts, 85, went to meet the Lord and to be with her husband, surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday April 16, 2017. Born in Lancaster, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hrycko) Maksymik. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Tibbitts worked as an executive secretary at Protective Loan Corporation and later at the Teresian House. She was a longtime Communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church. Along with her husband, she enjoyed winters in Winterhaven, Florida and attending Boston Red Sox spring training games. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her grandchildren; never missing any of their activities.

ALBANY- Maureen P. (O’Connor) O’Connell, 79, entered Eternal Rest on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany to William and Elizabeth (Meehan) O’Connor, she graduated from Vincentian Institute and the College of St. Rose. She earned her Master’s degree in Public Health from Sage College of Albany and continued her career in nursing. Maureen was Nurse Manager of the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Peter’s Hospital for many years. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Hospital Ethics Committee where she remained after her retirement. Maureen was an avid bridge player, gardener, and active member of the City Club of Albany. She was a longtime Communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Vincent de Paul Church.

ALBANY- Charles H. “Chuck” Nattell, 70, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Bernard S. and Susan Burns Nattell.Charles was a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School in California, attended California Polytechnic Institute and was a graduate of Maria College and the NYS Empire State College. He worked for the NYS Division for Youth and was always dedicated to the youth he counseled and guided. It was more than a job to Charles.

(Kirkwood) Palmer, 65, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Albany Medical Center.Born on Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Kirkwood and lived in Coxsackie since 1973. Jane had a 30 year career with Amtrak as a statistical clerk. She was past PTO president of Coxsackie-Athens Elementary School and past president of the former C-A Gals softball league. Jane was a die-hard NY Yankee fan and was especially fond of Derek Jeter.

Leisenfelder, Herbert J. Jr.

GLENMONT- Herbert J. Leisenfelder Jr., 89, peacefully entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Born in Albany, he was a graduate of St. James Institute, Class of 1941 and Christian Brothers Academy, class of 1945. He served his country as a radio operator and in air traffic control in the Army Air Corps. discharged in 1947. He was employed by Texaco for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He was also employed by the US Post Office, retiring in 1990. He was also a Communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the former St. James Church. He was predeceased by his loving parents Herbert and Catherine (nee Ryder) Leisenfelder. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Agnes Constance (nee Kelly) Leisenfelder; and his loving children Herbert Leisenfelder III (Mayumi) and Noreen Desharnais (John); his cherished grandchildren; Maura, Brendan, Daniel, Sean, Eileen and Kathryn Desharnais and Yusuke and Hinako Leisenfelder.
