Fumi was our wonderful neighbor for 40 years . She was generous with her gardening advice and with gifts of cuttings and plants from her extraordinary garden . She shared details of her hikes and offered good advice for medical issues. We often found vegetables in our deck from her garden . She encouraged us to share in the bounty of her tomatoes, herbs, eggplants etc. She shared her time and didn’t hesitate to answer our questions about when to prune bushes or answer the perennial question: weed or not ? We miss Fumi - her cheery hello and her smile and her visits to our garden.

Fumi was our cherished neighbor for the past 22 years.  Her warm smile and gentle words were always welcoming.  She always encouraged me to take flowers from her garden,  especially to bring to my patients, which I enjoyed doing.  We will miss her very much but know she didn’t want to live if she couldn’t be gardening, painting, and socializing. She is reunited with the love of her life and whole again.  Mary and Bill Bowen
