Aieta, Vincenzo

ALBANY- Vincenzo Aieta, age 62, died and passed into Eternal rest Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born in Montemurro, Potenza, Italy, he was the son of Donato Aieta and Maria Francesca Saponara. He emigrated to the United States in 1990 and held dual citizenship with the US and Italy.

Mr. Aieta worked as a foreman for Utilities Systems Technologies and formerly at Troy Belting & Supply Co. in the panel shop for many years. He was a loving father and had a passion for the arts, especially music, literature and cinema.

He is survived by his mother Maria Francesca Saponara; his son Sergio Aieta; brothers Filippo, Antonio and Leonardo Aieta; sisters-in-law, Iolanda, Lucia, and Sara; his former spouse Nina Saponara; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his dear companion Sodabeh Moayedi. He was predeceased by his father Donato.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
