ALBANY- Anne Marie Pennock (nee Cardamone) died Saturday, October 11, 2025 after a fulfilling and active life of 95 years. Anne was born in Mechanicville, NY to Thomas P. and Maria Caterina (Scalise) Cardamone in 1930, shortly after their arrival from Calabria, Italy. Anne was married to Robert V. Pennock Sr. for 61 years, until his death in 2014.
Anne’s family moved to Albany when she was a child. She was a graduate of the former Cathedral Academy. Following high school Anne attended and graduated from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing. Her first nursing job was in the OR at Albany Medical Center. She returned to her career after raising her eight children. She then worked at the former Child’s Hospital, Albany Medical Center in the ICU and St. Peter’s 6 Macauley unit.
Anne was active in the Village of Voorheesville, where she lived for fifty years raising her family. She volunteered for the Village, the School District, Boy and Girl Scouts, and the Board of Elections. She was an active parishioner at St. Matthews Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Religious Education teacher and choir member.
Anne also sang with the Thursday Musical Club for 36 years.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Maria Cardamone, her loving husband, Robert V. Pennock Sr., her son’s Robert V. Pennock Jr., John W. Pennock and Christopher Pennock, and her brother Frank Cardamone (Judy).
Survivors include her children, Anne-Jo (Michael) McTague, Thomas (Janet) Pennock, Mary (Robert) Reynolds, Francine (David) Lynch, and Elizabeth M. Whitney, her sister Emelia (James) Bailey, fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. Matthew's Church 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville from 9:30 to 11:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Online condolences may be offered at danielkeenanfuneralhome.com
