Armando, Maria T.

ALBANY- Maria (Tschantret) Armando, 88, died peacefully Sunday, November 30, 2014 after a long struggle at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Napoli, Italy in 1926 to Luigi Tschantret and Anna Rivelli. Maria was truly loved and adored by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her forceful personality and her famous taralli.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Armando; her sisters Rosa and Lillian Tschantret; brothers, Franco and Aldo (late Rosa) Tschantret. She is survived by her sisters, Alma Esposito (late Ciro Esposito), Vera Gargiulo (Crescrenzo); brothers, Oscar Tschantret (Maria), Boris Tschantret (late Rita) and Gianni Tschantret (Benedetta) and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in the United States and Italy.

The family wishes to thank Albany Community Hospice for the caring help they received.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 9:15 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
