REXFORD- Betty Jane (Henry) Baker, 78, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 surrounded by her family at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born and educated in Albany she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Felt) Henry, Sr. Betty Jane was a 1958 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. She worked for several years at McKesson and Robbins before raising her family and was a member of the Third Reformed Church in Albany.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Willard E. Baker, Jr.; children Lynn (George) van der Wouden of Rotterdam, Lori Ann Baker and William E. Baker, Sr. both of Ballston Lake, and Lisa (Kevin) Irish of Porter Corners; grandchildren Timothy and Steven (Megan) van der Wouden, Sarah (Brian) Powell, William Baker, Jr., Rebecca Baker, Matthew and Emily Irish; her siblings Harry (Ellen) Henry, Jr, Sandra (Thomas) Chillemi, Jerry (Carole) Henry, Suzanne (late John) Brown, and the late Larry and Ronald Henry; sisters-in-law Debra and Patia Henry; also several nieces, and nephews.
Betty Jane was a devoted homemaker and a gifted and talented needlepoint artist. She enjoyed making special gifts for family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital ICU and CCU for their exceptional care and devotion.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
