Baker, Robert L. Sr.

SELKIRK- Robert L. Baker, Sr., 72, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at home. Born and educated in Albany he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Lillian (Bollman) Baker, Sr. Mr. Baker was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a clerk with the New York State Court of Claims for 38 years. Mr. Baker was a 45 year member of the Guttenberg Lodge #737 F & A.M, a Past Master and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. He was also a lifetime member of Sheehy Palmer VFW Post #6776.

He was the husband of Beverly M. (Brady) Baker; father of Robert L. (Mary Ellen) Baker, Jr. of Glenmont and Terri (Jay) Woolford of Slingerlands; grandfather of Nathanial and Abigail Baker and Samantha Woolford; brother of Daniel (Mary Jane) Baker of Albany and the late Donald W. (Mary) Baker, Sr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc., 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Interment will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with his family at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 4-8 pm. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to Masonic Care Community, 2150 Bleecker St., Utica, NY 13501 or to Shriners Hospital for Children- Springfield, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
