RENSSELAER- Viola (Puckett) Baker, 77, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her home.
Born in Carlisle, NY and educated in Cobleskill she was the daughter of the late Noah and Belva (Burling) Puckett. Viola worked as a clerk at the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Albany for many years and later she worked as a toll collector for the NYS Thruway Authority, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Third Reformed Church in Albany and volunteered at the food pantry at the First Church in Albany.
Wife of Kenneth W. Baker, Sr.; mother of Darlene DeMott and the late Brian Wilsey; step-mother of Kenneth Baker, Jr. (Deirdre McIntosh), Mark Baker (Mary), John Baker (Nancy) and Matthew Baker (Heather); sister of Belva France, Betty Lou Moldenhauer, Schuyler Puckett and the late Lillian Somers and Floyd Puckett. She is also survived by several grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12205 at 12 Noon on Friday, November 4, 2016.
