GLENMONT- Raymond P. Barrett, 80, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Manor at Guilderland. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Raymond and Nora (Horan) Barrett. Mr. Barrett graduated from Siena College and worked as a purchasing officer with the NYS Office of General Services. He was a Communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and a longtime usher.
He is survived by his wife, Hope (Scott) Barrett; sons, Timothy (Patricia) Barrett of Delmar and Christopher Barrett of Selkirk; sisters, Joan (late Vince) Egan, Patricia Farrigan and Mary (Frank) Heller; brothers, John (Fran) Barrett and Thomas Barrett; grandchildren Ashley McElroy, Brittany, Shannon, Nora, Cailie and Maire Kate Barrett; great-grandchildren Brayden and Mason McElroy; his mother-in-law Dorothy Scott, and brother-in-law Hugh (Roseann) Scott. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the US and in Ireland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 26, 2014 at 9:30 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Washington Ave., Ext. Albany, NY 12205.
