Berman, Sophie

ALBANY - Sophie Berman, 88, a lifelong resident of Albany, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2021 at the Teresian House.

Born in Albany, Sophie was the daughter of the late Samuel and Yetta Berman. She was a stenographer for many years for the NYS Department of Labor in Albany.

Sophie was a lover of animals and was a breeder of Golden Retrievers and was very proud of her many show dogs. She always had a smile and a good word for everyone.

She is survived by her close and personal friends: Patrick Carroll, Anne Pastore, Phyllis Gamello and Fr. Jonathan Gray.

Friends are invited to visit with her friends on Friday May 7 from 10:30-11:30 am at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Masks and social distancing will be observed.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday May 7at Beth Emeth Cemetery, 59 Turner Lane in Loudonville with a limit of 25 people.
