ALBANY- Catherine A. Borst, 92 passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 with her family by her side. Catherine “Kay” Borst was born in Albany on September 19, 1921 and was married to the love of her life, Raymond I. Borst Jr. who predeceased her in 1997.Kay was a proud parent of four children and was a dedicated and loving mom.She was a pillar of strength for our family and above all an exceptional mother, grandmother and great grandmother.We could always count on our mom to be there for us with her cheerful disposition and never ending support.She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who knew her. Catherine is survived by her four adoring children,Raymond I. Borst III (Barbara) of East Greenbush,Margaret M. Motta of Albany,John D. Borst of Delmar and Peter D. Borst(Anthony) of Wynantskill;her grandchildren,Raymond I. Borst IV (Lisa), Thomas M. Borst (Jill), Christopher D. Motta (Tracy) ,Emily Borstand Maureen McKernon (Johan);her great grandchildren:Raymond I. Borst V,Jessica, Gabrielle, and Christopher “CJ”. Our family would like to thank the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for their outstanding care and compassion during mom’s last days.It was very comforting to know her care was in the hands of such loving, compassionate people, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9:15am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society,3 Oakland Ave., Albany, New York 12204.
