Brown, Ann R.

BLUFFTON, SC – Ann R. Brown, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Bluffton. She was born Anna Rita Rossi in Albany, NY to Frank and Rachael Rossi. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary and her brothers, Paris and Leo.

She married Edward E. Brown in April, 1945.

In 1978, Ann earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Rose and in 1982 a Master’s degree in Sociology from Fordham University. She worked 16 years with the U.S. Department of Probation & Parole.

Ann is survived by her children and grandchildren: Leanne Baker and her daughter Bonnie Baker, and Larry Brown, his wife Beverly Brown, and their daughter Natasha Brown. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Rossi and loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. A prayer service and time for personal reflections will follow at 7 p.m. All are welcome and may also call at the funeral home Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9 to 10 a.m. where a procession will be organized to travel to St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands at 10 a.m.
