Calabrese, Mary E.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.-Mary E. (Wedge) Calabrese, 81, formerly of Albany, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach. Born in Greene County, NY, she lived in Albany most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Anne (Wells) Wedge. Mrs. Calabrese was a homemaker and had also worked as a crossing guard for the Albany Police Department.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Calabrese in 1993 and by her brother Leo Wedge. Survivors include her seven children, Joseph (Monica) Calabrese Jr., Michael (Julie) Calabrese, Mary (James) Bonin, Patrick Calabrese, Rosemarie (Eugene Limongelli, Jr.) Calabrese, John (Cathy Kelley) Calabrese and Joanne Calabrese; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
