BONITA SPRINGS, FL- Edward J. Campbell Jr., 79, of Bonita Springs, FL, died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at North Collier Hospital. Formerly of West Orange, NJ, he had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2001. Ed was born August 4, 1934 in Albany, son of the late Edward J. and Catherine (Reynolds) Campbell Sr. Ed earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics from Siena College before serving in the United States Army where he was stationed in Lenggries, Germany. Following his time in the service, Ed worked for MetLife, Inc. for 32 years before retiring in 1991 and founding Campbell Marketing Services, Inc., a consulting company focused on the mutual fund industry. Ed served as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University in the Continuing Education Department, as well as President of the Rock Spring Club in West Orange, NJ. He loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid golfer. Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia (Kearney) Campbell; children, Marilyn (Matthew) Hobby of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Edward (Alicyn) Campbell III of Edgewater, MD, Steven (Alexandra) Campbell of Rye, NY, Sharon Campbell of Corona del Mar, CA, and Linda (David) Lipner of Irvington, NY; brother, Robert (Janet) Campbell of Loudonville; sisters, Constance (Robert) Hurley of Peaks Island, ME, and Carol (Kenneth) Toomey of Albany; and 8 (soon to be 9) grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Peter (Eleanor) Campbell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10 am in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 900 Madison Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4-7 pm.
