ALBANY- Thomas C. Carmello, 67, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.Born and educated in Albany, he was son of the late Joseph and Ida (Proskin) Carmello. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.Mr. Carmello worked for the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles for many years, retiring in 2003 .He loved music, traveling with Barbara, the Boston Red Sox and spending time with his family.
Father of Michael Thomas (Margaret “Peggy”) Carmello of Albany; grandfather of MacKinnon Hogan, Alanna and Kayla Carmello; brother of Elaine (late John) Scaccia, Jeannette (James) DeMarco, Joseph (Carol) Carmello, William (Judy) Carmello, Ronald (Joan) Carmello and the late John (Nancy) Carmello, Dolores Murphy and Joan Maud; brother-in-law of Robert Maud; also survived by his loving companion Barbara Julian, many nieces and nephews, first wife (Michael’s Mother) Sarah Amesse and his second wife, Victoria Carmello.
The family would like to thank the fourth floor staff, the oncology nurses, critical care staff and hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 4-7 pm.
