COLONIE- Catherine Mary Hunter, 71, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Her life was a shining example of loyalty, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.
Catherine was predeceased by her parents, William and Ann Emerick, and her beloved daughter, Tricia Ann Hunter. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 53 years, Kevin D. Hunter; her children, Michele (Brian) Whitley and Kevin (Lindsey) Hunter; her sister, Mary Ann (Butt); her brothers, William (Barbara) Emerick and Ronald Emerick; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was a proud and adoring Nana to her grandchildren, Hunter, Liana, Declan, Braeden, and Macie- each of whom will carry her love in their hearts forever.
Catherine’s life was defined by selflessness. She consistently placed the needs of her family above her own, creating a home filled with comfort, joy, and unconditional love. “Nana & Poppa’s” was more than a place—it was a home of warmth and togetherness, where countless cherished memories were made.
Professionally, Catherine dedicated herself to helping others through her work in customer service and support. She spent over 25 years at Golub Corporation, where she formed many lifelong friendships, and continued her career at the Teamsters Local 294 Health and Welfare Fund for seven years.
