Cheryl D. George

Cheryl D. George, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 8, 2026 with her children by her side. Cheryl was born on April 25, 1949 in Johnstown, NY to the late Russell and Doris Barker Schubert. She was raised in Albany, graduating from Albany High School. She worked for the Department of Unclaimed Funds before becoming an office manager for MCWB Architects in Albany. Cheryl loved her garden and getting together with her family. She enjoyed traveling and would go on many cruises with her late husband Tom. She was an avid NY Giants fan. Cheryl generously donated to many cancer research organizations and to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Gerard; brother, Jerry; and sister, Faye.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Terry); son, David (Nazanin); grandchildren, Jamie (David), Emily (Devon), Selena, and Rebecca; great-granddaughter, Natasha; brothers, Sean (Cindy), Andrew (June), and Michael (Ashlee); sister, Laurie (David); and several nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, Cheryl has been privately cremated and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements by Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Albany. Condolences can be posted at danielkeenanfuneralhome.com.
