Conklin, Barbara Ann

ALBANY-Barbara Ann (Miotke) Conklin, 79, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home. A native Albanian she was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony B. and Mary (Clemens) Miotke and the devoted wife of the late Raymond G. Conklin. She is the beloved mother of Susan (Dan) Zewert, Donna Keller, Dan and Irene Miller. She is also survived by her loving sister, Paula R. Ego; several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Cali.

Mrs. Conklin attended Our Lady Help of Christians Grammar School and Cathedral Academy. She was employed by the NYS Education Department for 30 years, retiring on March 27, 1991.

Mrs. Conklin was a communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill and previously a parishioner of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Church. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Sheehy Palmer VFW Post 6776, the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post 1520 and the Polish American Citizens Club. She was also a member of the Beltrone Living Center Association and the Hart Club.

Calling hours will be held in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, 10 Lodge St., Albany. All are welcome to attend. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
