ALBANY-Thomas J. Cotrofeld, Sr., 95, passed on to eternal peace on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born and educated in Albany he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Jones) Cotrofeld. Mr. Cotrofeld was an Army Veteran of WWII. He worked as a dental technician for many years and was a partner in Northeastern Dental Lab in Albany.
Mr. Cotrofeld was an avid automotive enthusiast. He was a life member of the American Legion Joseph Zaloga Post and a long tenured volunteer for the Albany Police Athletic League (PAL) Toy Program. He enjoyed repairing electronic games and toys for the Christmas toy program. His greatest joy was the time spent with his family and friends.
Husband of the late Emily A. (Bush) Cotrofeld; father of Thomas J. (Jeanne) Cotrofeld, Jr. of Delmar; brother of the late William J. Cotrofeld, George E. Cotrofeld, Josephine Calsolaro, Elizabeth Pomakoy and Charles A. Cotrofeld. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, Pine and Lodge Sts., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
