SLINGERLANDS- Walter J. “Buddy” DeVoss, Jr., 62, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Albany, he was the son of Walter J. DeVoss, Sr. and the late Jayne (DeBella) DeVoss. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Elizabeth DeVoss and his beloved Lori Brock.
Buddy was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School and was currently employed at CDTA. He was an avid Giants fan and music enthusiast. Buddy especially enjoyed attending his grandson’s sporting events. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his loving and caring personality and his great sense of humor.
Survivors in addition to his father include his adoring children, Tiffany DeVoss and Nicholas DeVoss both of Albany and Jennifer (Robert) Samson of Voorheesville; his proud grandchildren A’dante Bianchino, and Emma, Layla and Ella Samson; his loving sister, Patricia (Michael) Panucci; his nephews, Jason (Beth) Panucci and Christopher Panucci; and many cousins, dear friends and co-workers.
His Funeral service will be held Friday, May 4, at 11:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with the family prior to the service from 10- 11:30 am. Burial will follow the service in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Buddy’s name may be made to Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
