ALBANY- Joan A. (Van Liew) Dober, 82, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
Born in Albany and a graduate of Cathedral Academy Class of 1951, she was the daughter of the late Charles I. and Loretta (Probst) Van Liew. Joan was a longtime parishioner of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Church and currently a communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi.
She was the wife of the late Wesley E. Dober; mother of Lorraine Dober, Eileen Dober-Robinson (the late Bruce Robinson), Maryann Milleville (Bryce) and Linda Dober; grandmother of Stacy Robinson, Bryce Milleville, Laura Milleville and Courtney O’Neill; sister of the late Donald Van Liew. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Frances Van Liew and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with her family Friday, January 13, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Parish of Mater Christi Food Pantry, 40 Hopewell St., Albany, NY 12208.
