Doherty, Mildred “Millie”

ALBANY-Mildred M. “Millie” (Lamoureaux) Doherty, 92, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Eddy Memorial in Troy.

Born in North Adams, MA she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Mary (Bissaillon) Lamoureaux. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Millie loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Francis C. Doherty who died in 2006. She was a longtime communicant of St. John’s- St. Ann’s Church in the South End where she and her husband were active volunteers for St. John’s- St. Ann’s Outreach Center. As a result of this service Millie was awarded a Senior Lifetime Achievement Award by the Capital District Senior Issues Forum in 2009.

Mother of Barbara (Robert) Norton, Michael (Gloria) Doherty, Thomas (Therese) Doherty and Kathleen (Kurt) Miller; grandmother of Patrick (Rachel) Norton, Kara Collins, Jennifer (Adam) Brucker, Mary Kate (Matthew) Englat, Christopher Doherty, Michele (David) Gerhard, Julie (Cliff) Nooney, Patrick (Leeann) Doherty, Kelly (Bryan) Connor, Timothy Doherty, Dawn (Ben) Doherty; Eric (Brianne) Doherty, Celia (Ken) Radley, Brian Miller and Kristopher (Kristin) Miller. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews and her dear friend Gloria Gallagher. She was the sister of the late, Ernest Lamoureaux, Loretta Burns and Dorothy DeMarco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in St. Francis of Assisi Parish-South End Site, Fourth Ave. and Franklin St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
