ALBANY - Donald Joseph Leno Jr., of Albany, N.Y., passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. He was 87 and a half years old.
Donald was born in Albany on October 7, 1938, to parents Donald Joseph Leno and Helen Margaret Robinson. He attended schools in the area up to eighth grade. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines, and served in the Korean War as a young soldier. After returning to the U.S.A., he worked for the City of Albany for 38 years, also being a member of AFSCME. He then retired to live in Albany's South End. He enjoyed watching classic movies on T.V., and going on occasional excursions to Atlantic City with his wife, Rebecca.
He is survived by wife, Rebecca Leno; his stepdaughter, Maria Teresa Menses; his half-sister, Starline Leno, another half-sister; a son in Australia; and several other relatives in the Albany area.
Arrangements for an interment service and burial are still being made at this time through the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany.
