GLENMONT- Donna M. Sheehan passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, one day after her 87th birthday. She was born in Syracuse, NY to Ralph Dennington and Mary Ann Handley on July 10, 1939. She grew up in Syracuse and spent many summers on Grenadier Island in the St. Lawrence River. She moved to the Albany area in the early 1960’s where she met her husband, Tom, and they moved to Glenmont, NY in 1972. They were married 38 years prior to his death in 2004.
While Tom was alive, he and Donna enjoyed going to the casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and traveled more frequently to Turning Stone and Mohegan Sun. Donna enjoyed watching Monk, football, basketball, and most recently, watching games played in the FIFA World Cup. She never missed a NY Giants game, no matter how bad the team played. Her favorite players were Carmelo Anthony and Lawrence Taylor.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, her husband Tom, daughter Barbara Tate, and sisters Gloria Thrall and Toni Black. She is survived by her son, Bryan Sheehan, grandsons Christopher Sheehan and Marcus White, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to nieces Deborah Sheehan, Noel Cross, and Kelly Cardullo, and special friends Hilda Perez Palmer and Jim Endres for the time they spent taking care of Donna.
Per Donna’s request, there will be no services; however, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
