RAVENA- Virginia (“Sam/Ginny”) M. Duell, 57, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 from a sudden illness. She is daughter of the late George W. & Josephine (Stevens) Duell. She graduated from Albany Public Schools and Cosmetology School. Ginny worked in private healthcare, and then with SPARC’s as head chef for 23 years. She earned the St. Peter’s Hospital Health Care Services 2004 Employee of the Year Award and the 2013 Treatment Works March Award.
Never one to complain about her health or life’s problems, she always looked for the best in people. When asked how she was doing, she dismissed the attention and wanted to know how you were doing. Her positive attitude and commitment to taking care of the weakest among us was her mission in life and will be her legacy in the afterlife.
Nothing ever came easy for her, but she was an overcomer! She always said that she would never have made it without the good Lord’s help. Ginny was tough; but because she held you accountable, you always knew that she cared and expected you to be a better person to and for yourself. She loved her family, friends and her dogs, especially Georgie.See you on the other side Sam!
