Farrell, Betty

ALBANY- Betty “Gram” (Townsend) Farrell 94, died peacefully at home Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jeanette Townsend. Mrs. Farrell worked as a supervisor for Ft. Orange Press and retired in 1992 after over 50 years in the printing industry. She was a member of the Community Social Club and former Whitehall Little League.

Mrs. Farrell was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Farrell; her brother Robert Townsend; sisters Jean Byrne and Delores Leisenfelder, and her great-grand-son Liam Lyman. She is survived by her son Nicholas Farrell (Lori); grandchildren Nicholas Farrell, Jr. and Kelly Lyman (Jim); great-grandchildren Seamus, Padraic, Casey, Noah, Jack, Declan and Gianna.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her special friend and nephew Peter Townsend.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to The Community Hospice Gift Processing Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
