Feeney, Richard I.

ALBANY- Richard I. Feeney, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023 after a short illness surrounded by his family. Richard was born in 1957 in Albany. He was predeceased by his father Anthony J. Feeney, Jr. and his mother Alma A. (Beckerle) Feeney.

He is survived by his brothers Dennis A. Feeney (Terri), Stephen J. Feeney (Lynette) and his sister Tammy A. Feeney (Sissy); nieces and nephews Kristina DeGrocco, Michael Rossman, Christen Feeney, Kiern Feeney, and Willem Feeney: and several cousins.

Rich was a graduate of Guilderland High School and was a member of the 1975 Boys basketball suburban Council Championship team leading the team in assists that season and was selected All Suburban in basketball that same year.

He was a graduate of SUNY Potsdam.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Albany Medical Center for their care of him during his recent illness. In addition, the family wants to sincerely thank all the staff at Shaker Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially the head nurse on his unit Margaret for all the tremendous care and devotion to Rich while he was a resident at the facility.

Funeral services will be held privately.
