Field, Edith A.

ALBANY - Edith A. (De Joie) Field, 96, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born and educated in Coeymans, NY she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angeline (Zampella) De Joie.Mrs. Field was a graduate of the Lamont School and worked for a time as a beautician. She later worked for BlueCross/Blue Shield in Slingerlands as a clerk for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi.

Survivors include her two sisters, Margaret M. “Meg” De Joie and Mary Jane De Joie; her nephew, Patrick (Mary T.) Albano; several grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grand nephews. In Addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Albano and Helena De Joie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Church prior to the Mass beginning at 10:15 a.m. Burial, Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edith’s name may be made to Parish of Mater Christi Food Pantry, 40 Hopewell St. Albany, NY 12208.
