Fleitz, Mary Grace

GREENVILLE, SC – Mary Grace (Ward) Fleitz, 83, formerly of Menands, died Monday, May 26, 2014 in Greenville, SC.Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anne (Dunbar) Ward. Mrs. Fleitz graduated from Wheelock College, Boston, MA in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a second grade teacher in Menands School from 1952 to 1987. Mrs. Fleitz was a communicant and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Joan of Arc Church. She was also a member of the Menands Fire Company #1 Auxiliary, the Menands Books Club and the Menands Public Library.

She was the wife of the late James Elwin Fleitz; mother of James Edward Fleitz and his wife Rande of Greenville, SC and the late Patrick Fleitz; grandmother of Asa Fleitz and Cameron Fleitz.

Funeral services will be held 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 76 Menand Road., Menands where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
