ALBANY- Floyd Edward (Eddie) Haines, 72 entered into eternal peace on May 19, 2026 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Eddie was born in Vermont on August 31, 1953 to the late Leona Badger-Haines and the late Floyd, John Haines.
Eddie lived and worked in Albany for most of his life. At the age of 19 he started working at Zuchman’s Bakery in Albany. He then went to Agway Fertilizer in the Port of Albany until their closure in 1982. He had various jobs until he started working at Schapps Movers. After he retired, he loved working through the community helping to remove snow or mowing lawns always kept himself busy.
Eddie was an avid bowler, a true lefty. He enjoyed working on cars and would help anybody with a dead battery or flat tires. He really enjoyed not being idle. Eddie was also a staple at Stewart’s on Delaware Avenue and always had a greeting for anyone who looked his way.
Eddie is survived by one sister Marie (Ron) Weisheit of Selkirk. He is also survived by three children Christine Haines Almeida of Colonie, Edward (Nicole) Haines of Chesterfield, Virginia and Lance Haines of Albany. He has Four grandchildren Nicholas, Michael and McKenzie of Albany and Bella of Chesterfield, Virginia. Beside his parents he is predeceased by his brother, John, F Haines and his grandson Patrick Dale.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday May 27, 2026 at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany from 4 to 7 PM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the burial at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery 1389 Central Ave. in Colonie at 11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
