Fox, Verna C.

CLIFTON PARK- Verna C. (Wesselmann) Fox, 78, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at home.Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (VanDeusen) Wesselmann. She graduated from Albany High School, Class of 1955 and the University of Rochester, School of Nursing, Class of 1958. Mrs. Fox worked at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Home in Albany and retired after many years as Administrator of the Good Samaritan Home in Delmar in 1985. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit and enjoyed reading, baking and her little dog, Murphy. She spent many years traveling with her beloved husband John in their RV “snowbirding” in Florida with friends each winter.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John R. Fox, Sr. and their loving daughter, Bethaney Carpenter. She is survived by her devoted children John R. (Lisa) Fox, Jr. of Lake George, Diane A. (Richard) Wink of Springfield, VA, Kim (Joel) Weiss of Glenville and son-in-law Daniel Carpenter of Mariaville; her cherished grandchildren Alice and Ella Fox, Erica, Sarah and Christopher Wink, Hunter and Emily Weiss and Jaclyn Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 57 Hurlbut St., Albany, NY 12209. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send donations to the church.
