Franklin, Deborah N.

BALLSTON LAKE-Deborah N. (Liberty) Franklin, 64, went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. Born in New York City she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Janet (Jaeger) Liberty. Deborah earned her nursing degree at Maria College in Albany. She started her career in the surgical department at St. Peter’s Hospital and later worked for Community Care Physicians in Delmar. She found her true calling as a pediatric nurse with Giombetti and Brady Pediatric Office in Delmar and was semi-retired at the time of her passing.

Deborah was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a dedicated volunteer with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and she also assisted her daughter Sarah, in her classroom at Milton Terrace North Elementary School.

Deborah loved to travel and spend time with her family and especially enjoyed the beach and vacationing at Disney World.

Beloved wife of 35 years of John T. Franklin; cherished mother of Sarah Nadine Franklin and Elizabeth Franklin Camardello and her husband Sam; sister-in-law of Mary and Harry Sheevers and Patrick Franklin; aunt of Erin, Brian and John Sheevers. She is also survived by her loving cousins, Donna and David Cooper, Beth and Lou Krefski and Family and Joyce and Michael MacDuff and Family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
