Garno, Ruth C. “Ruthie”

ALBANY- Ruth (Reed) "Ruthie" Garno, 63 died Friday, November 27, 2015 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. Born and educated in Albany she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Betty (Dayter) Reed, Sr.

Ruth worked as a supervisor for many years at NYS Higher Education retiring in 2012. For the past 3 years she has spent her winters in Margate, Florida. She was a NY Yankee fan, enjoyed golfing and the Saratoga Race Track.

She is the mother of Laura Russo and Tina Desnoyers; sister of Jane Seeley, Marion Kleitgen, Elsie Gallagher, Arthur Reed, Jr., Barbara Austin, Suzanne Delgado, Cindy Barnes and the late Artie Mae VanDeBogart, John Reed and Elizabeth Allen; grandmother of Amanda Roberts, Austin Desnoyers and Christopher Russo; great-grandmother of Talia Simmons. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law Donna and Fran Reed.

Funeral services will be Friday December 4, 2015 at 7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with the family prior the the service from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
