Geary, Dorothy I.

SLINGERLANDS- Dorothy I Geary, 92, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 after a brief illness. Dorothy is the wife of the late William H. Geary, whom she adored with all of her heart.She was born in Rome, NY to the late Alfred and Ida Tritten.

Dorothy is survived by her three children; James (Patricia) Geary of Voorheesville, Richard (Lee) Geary of Bluffton, SC, and Daniel (Kathy) Geary of Downingtown, PA; her seven grandchildren Bryan Geary, Trisha Gordon, Jennifer Geary Wolfe, Michael Geary, Amanda Geary, Matthew Geary, and Emily Lipps; and her brother Donald (Marlene) Tritten of Rome, NY; also survived by many great-grandchildren whom she adored as well as her cat Maize who kept her company for so many years. She was predeceased by her grandson Nicholas Geary and sister Shirley O’Connor.

Dorothy, or known by so many as Grammy, Dot and MiMi, most enjoyed her time with family.She only needed the simple things in life-to love and be loved. And she was.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Beverwyck Nursing Home for their outstanding care during her last days.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
