Gerard, Mary Lou

ALBANY- Mary Lou (Donohue) Gerard, 91, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at home. Born in Albany, daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Mahan) Donohue, she graduated from Vincentian Institute. Mrs. Gerard raised her family in Albany and later joined the work force as a clerk with the New York State Department of Health for 20 years. She was a Communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi.

Wife of the late William F. Gerard; mother of Robert (Shan) Gerard, Catherine (Joseph Moorman) Gerard, Thomas (Cheryl) Gerard, Peter (Patricia) Gerard, Michael (Christine) Gerard and the late William F. Gerard, Jr.; also survived by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 in The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church from 10 to 11 am prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
