Goet, Deborah L.

DELMAR - Deborah L. Wright-Goet passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014. She was the beloved mother of Alexander Goet and the wife of Benoit Goet. Her most precious thing in life was her son and she embraced all of his activities and all the people she met through them. She also enjoyed cooking, drawing, painting and singing. One of her hobbies was crocheting scarves for family and friends. Her vibrant personality showed through in her loving, caring and outgoing ways. Deborah could be the life of the party and her smile would light up the room.

She was a Bethlehem Central Graduate. She had worked for over 25 years as a community residence director for the state of New York OMRDD.

She was the daughter of Clifford Wright and the late Clare Eck Wright. She is the sister of Sharon (Craig) Lonergan, Christine Sawtelle, Becky Holligan, Lisa Wright and Clifford Wright. She is the sister-in-law of Nicole Goet-Fontaine and Rene Goet. She is survived by 17 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Michele and Michael Burek and their family,Lisa Wright and Christine Sawtelle for their unconditional support during Deborah’s last journey. Her son Alexander would like people to wear one of Deborah’s Scarves if they have one.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
