MENANDS -Sister Anna Marie Goodrich, DC died August 7, 2015, at St. Louise House, Albany. She was 96 years of age and 72 years vocation. Born in Trenton, Sister Anna Marie (baptized Cora Goodrich) was the oldest of five children born to William Gardner and Anna Shea (Kennedy) Goodrich. She entered the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in December of 1942 in Baltimore, Md. Sister Anna Marie graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, N.J., in 1937. She attended The Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where she earned her degree in Psychiatric Nursing in 1953 and her Degree in Nursing Administration in 1958.

Sister Anna Marie’s first mission was St. Joseph’s Retreat in Dearborn, Mich., (1944); she served there again (1958 – 1962).Sister served at Seton Institute in Baltimore twice (1944 – 1953 and 1954 – 1958).Sister served at Astor Home in Rhinebeck, N.Y., (1953 – 1954). In 1962, Sister was missioned to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Mich., (1962 – 1970); she served at DePaul Provincial House in Albany (1970 – 1971 and 1977 – 1979) where she was the Local Superior from 1970 – 1971.Sister Anna Marie was missioned to Kennedy Child Study Center in New York, N.Y., (1971 – 1977) and served as the Local Superior there.Sister served at Carney Hospital in Boston, Mass., (1979 – 1981) where she was the Local Superior during her tenure.The next eight years, Sister ministered at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn., (1981 – 1989).She then ministered at St. Louise House in Albany (1989 – 1991).She served at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., (1991 – 1993); at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, N.Y., (1993 – 1994); and at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Pottsville, Penn., (1994 – 2002). Sister Anna Marie joined the Ministry of Prayer in Albany, N.Y., in August of 2002; she lived there until the time of her death.

Sister Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents and all but one sibling. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn (Goodrich) Ducoté, of Jacksonville, Fla.; many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews; and her Sisters in Community.

A Wake for Sister Anna Marie Goodrich, D.C., will be held on Friday, August 14, from 4 to 7 PM at DePaul Chapel, 96 Menand Road, Albany, N.Y.; a reception will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Anna Marie will be celebrated Saturday, August 15, at 10 AM at DePaul Chapel .Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.
