Gray, Joan M.

HURLEY- Joan Marie Gray 67, of Hurley, NY died Thursday, January 21, 2016, after a long battle with cancer at Albany Medical Center. Born in Stamford, NY, the daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian Gray, Joan was a lifelong resident of Hurley, NY. She attended SUNY Oneonta where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree and SUNY Ulster where she obtained her Associates Degree in Data Processing. She worked over 20 years as a programmer at IBM Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Fishkill, one of the best in her field. She also held jobs in medical billing and accounting for various companies.She was a good sister and friend, loved her cats, enjoyed going to craft fairs, and watching movies as well.She had a determination and strength that were admired and she will be dearly missed.She is survived by her two loving sisters, Susan (Thomas) MacNary-Dinchukof Wallkill, NY; and Marilyn (Charles) Bennett of Equinunk, Pa.; as well as her friends and cousins.

Friends are invited to her memorial service officiated by Pastor Howard Dalton at the Reformed Church of Shawangunkin Wallkill, NY, located at 1166 Hoagerburgh Road in Wallkill, on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 11:00a.m. Those wishing may direct memorial donations in Joan’s name to a local animal shelter or breast cancer research.
