ALBANY- Gregory Guidetti, born on August 5, 1964, in Albany, NY, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He grew up in Albany and graduated from Bishop Maginn High School before continuing his education at Marist College. He received his MBA at RPI College. Greg worked primarily as a large group health insurance underwriter. He was employed by AIG and Swiss Re in the New York City area before returning to Albany to be closer to his mother. In Albany, he worked for Empire Blue Cross, Rowlands and Barranca, and the NYS Department of Labor.
Greg lived life to the fullest and found joy in the simple pleasures. He especially loved sunny days whether relaxing by the pool, lying on the beach, long walks with his dog or skiing down a mountain with friends. Known for his warmth and generosity, Greg was deeply devoted to his family. Though he never had children of his own, he was like a second father to his three nieces, Adrianna, Alaina, and Angelina, the daughters of his brother Eugene Jr., who he cherished as though they were his own. Greg also treasured his many other nieces and nephews, always present to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and every special family milestone.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra and Eugene Sr. He is survived by his devoted brother Eugene Jr., and his two loving sisters, Cynthia and Kim, along with his cherished nieces, nephews, countless friends who were touched by his kindness, friendship and gentle soul, and his loyal companion and beloved dog, Cooper, who will be lovingly cared for by family and will live on as a reminder of him.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2025 at 10:30 am in Mater Christi Church 40 Hopewell St Albany. Relatives and friends are invited. Online condolences may be offered at danielkeenanfuneralhome.com
