GUILDERLAND - Harry (Bud) Allan, 89, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025.
Harry was born in Albany, N.Y. to Harry Allan Sr. and Mary Farrell Allan. Harry was predeceased by his sisters, Marilyn Allan, and Ricky Allan Conway. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Allan of Long Beach, California.
Harry graduated from Vicentian Institute, and went on to study at Manhattan College, and Albany Law School. He practiced Family Law in Albany for many years.
Harry was an avid runner, a lover of nature, hiking (Adirondack 46'er), and a life long member and volunteer for the Sierra Club. He was an enthusiastic rock climber in the beautiful Shawangunk mountains until well into his seventies. Harry kept his Catholic faith as a communicant of Christ the King Church in Guilderland, N.Y., and is a cherished member of a 12 step community for over 50 years.
Harry also loved his chocolate.
Harry is survived by his children, Lynn Allan of Alameda, Calif., Debbie Allan of Colonie, Ricky Talmage of Delmar, Mary Beth Fetterolf of Leesburg, Va., Timothy Allan of Albany, John Allan of Cartersville, Ga.; and his many grandchildren. Special thank you to our sister, Ricky, for the love and care you gave to our father.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
