DELMAR- Patricia A. Havill of Delmar, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Pat was born in Syracuse and was the daughter of William and Doris Maroney. As a young woman, Pat spent time living and working in Rochester. It was there that she met her husband, Ken. They married in 1952. They settled in the Syracuse area and raised three children. The family moved to Delmar in 1971.
Pat was a life-long caregiver to both family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her energy knew no bounds. She participated in Zumba and Jazzercise classes and loved to dance, especially the Jitterbug. She loved the music of the Big Bands and Frank Sinatra. She enjoyed annual trips to New York to visit museums, see Broadway shows, and take in the sights. She was known for her sense of style and had a fondness for hats-- a true fashionista. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth, and her brother James Maroney. She was a devoted mother to Colleen (Wallace) Reed of Liverpool, Marianne Shanley of Selkirk, and Robert (Helen) Havill of Delmar, and the beloved "Gramma" of Kathryn Reed, Jenna (Peter) Anderson, Kerry (Gared) Wilkie, Joseph and Halie Shanley, Nicole and Rachel Havill, and great-grandmother of Anna, Saige, Kinley and Gabriel. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou Duffy, sister-in-law Connie Maroney and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Colleen Mulkerne Treiling and her little dog, Dexter.
