ALBANY- Howard Ray Hebbard, Jr. 84, died Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Howard Ray and Lyda (Folder) Hebbard, Sr.Mr. Hebbard attended Vincentian Institute and later graduated from Philip Schuyler High School.He worked as a contract administrator with the Watervliet Arsenal for 30 years. Mr. Hebbard was a longtime member of the Mayfield Yacht Club on Sacandaga Lake. He and his wife used to publish and mail the club newsletter the Armchair Yachtsmen. He was also a member of the Colonie Elks #2192.Mr. Hebbard enjoyed woodworking, golfing and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly (Herrewyn) Hebbard; children Lawrence R. (Mary Ann) Hebbard of Ballston Spa and Wendy J. (Paul) Doring of Hampden, MA; grandchildren, Christopher and Keith Hebbard; and great-grandsons Carter and Tyler Hebbard. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Eddy Village Green for the loving care he received.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Monday October 6, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Onesquethaw Cemetery.
